A Debt Collector That Helps You Fight Failure

April 7th, 2014 - by Alyssa Shea

Getting a call from a debt collector usually ends in feelings of failure. But one collector actually tries to help you out of your tough spot.

Bill Bartmann, who is the CEO of the debt collection company CFS2, has decided to go against the grain when it comes to collecting money. Instead of just calling up the debtors and demanding payment, or suing debtors to pay what they owe, he calls them “customers.” Bartmann gives his customers free job search services, going so far as to provide a resume reviewer and some prepping to help with interviews.

The CEO himself could attest to feelings of failure. He’s a high school dropout who ended up in debt for about $1 million when his first business failed. Even after he climbed his way back up and built CFS, he was met with failure there, too. Now, with CFS2, his hope is that the unusual way he goes about his business will help him succeed.

Bartmann’s empathy for the debtors he calls shows two sides of failure coming together to try to succeed. This CEO has found a way that he can use failure to lead him to success!
