Free Monty Python Videos Created Success

July 11th, 2016 - by Alyssa Shea

Usually, giving away something for free would mean you’re sure to see no return. When Monty Python decided to put their material on YouTube for free, they were surprised to find their sales skyrocketed!

When we say skyrocketed, we mean it. Their DVD sales climbed to the #2 spot on Amazon’s Movies and TV Bestseller List. The increase was an astounding 23,000%. When Monty Python decided to have this free-for-all, they released this statement:

“We’re letting you see absolutely everything for free. So there! But we want something in return. None of your driveling, mindless comments. Instead, we want you to click on the links, buy our movies & TV shows and soften our pain and disgust at being ripped off all these years.”

This could have lead to failure, but Monty Python found success giving their product away for free!
