How To Fail Sucessfully

July 25th, 2016 - by Alyssa Shea

Letting yourself fail can feel like the worst possible idea ever. But some people are beginning to find that failing can actually bring you more success!

Rob Palmer at Fast Company wrote an article based entirely on how to eliminate the threat of failure. How can you do that? By liberating yourself of the fear of failing. Check out these lessons that Palmer listed that he has learned over the years.

1. MOTIVATING WITH FEAR IS FOR DICTATORS

“If you’re not open to hearing a bad idea, only ideas that are safe and bland will be presented.”

2. ELICIT PERMISSION TO FAIL

“Create a culture where risk-taking and boldness are championed and they will make themselves known.”

3. COMMIT

“Going back on your word is not an option, especially if it leads to disciplinary action. People will follow all sorts, but nobody trusts a wishy-washy leader.”
