Maroon 5 is a popular band that seems to never miss a beat when it comes to success. Except for when they first started out.
Surprisingly, Maroon 5 wasn’t always so wildly popular. Initially, they went by the name Kara’s Flowers. Now you’re probably wondering why you never heard of them and their self titled album, We Like Digging? Seriously, that was the name of the album. The guys went on to sign with Reprise Records, releasing The Fourth World in 1997.
Unfortunately, Kara’s Flowers didn’t garner much more than a lukewarm response, which ended in the group splitting up. The boys went to college, found themselves along the way, which gave birth to the Maroon 5 we all know and love. We are all pretty grateful that they failed to gain any traction with their first try. For all we know, Maroon 5 may have never come to exist if they hadn’t failed first!
