GoDaddy is one of the biggest web services companies out there today. The founder, Bob Parsons, would be the first person to tell you how lucky he feels to have made it this far!
After serving the United States in Vietnam, Parsons came back to civilian life looking to use his free education to finally receive a college degree. He found himself working as an accountant where he picked up computer programming on the job. He started his own company not once, but twice, finally making Parson’s Technology profitable, and selling the company for $64 million a few years later. With that success, Parsons decided to start GoDaddy. It was slow to catch any attention at all and he found himself nearly down and out, considering taking the loss and keeping whatever he had in the bank at the time.
“I almost shut that thing down because I was worried about failure. GoDaddy was born because when I had my lucky moment, I was there to take advantage of it.”
Failing is always a part of success! If Parsons had turned his back on his company, we wouldn’t have the user friendly services of GoDaddy today!
