The greatest inventors must have been wildly famous and rich while they were alive, right? How could they have struggled if they were so successful?
Nikola Tesla is rarely given his dues when it comes to recognition of his contributions to the scientific community. The man was a genius and his inventions with the transmission and application of electric power changed our world. So how was it that he was so broke he couldn’t pay his own hotel bill? After wracking up a pretty significant hotel bill, which he couldn’t pay, Tesla offered them one of his inventions instead.
“He told them the device—which he referred to as a death beam, not a death ray—was extremely dangerous, and could detonate if someone opened it without taking the proper precautions.”
Except it was anything but a death beam, as they found out years after his death. Tesla successfully overcame failure!
